Finally, another entry

Sorry for the month's long delay. I was finishing the book (almost) and dealing with spam on the blog. I've sent the main body of the book to my editor at the University of Nebraska. All that I have left to do is write the epilogue, describing what happened to everyone after 1943. I'm procrastinating because I don't want to let go. I also need to find out more about JM Freeman's later life. I finally found a phone number for one of his grandsons, who I'll be calling soon.
Anyone interested in finding out what's happening in the coal mining world today, go to Google and sign up for a Google Alert for Coal Mine. You'll get every bit of news and commentary on coal mining. It's quite enlightening/depressing.
Have a nice summer, Montana. I wish I could come back.
